On the Verge of Extinction - Rajpura Village

29th September 2014

Naya Haryana
Rajpura village is on the Hansi-Jind road. It is a sleepy village surrounded by paddy farms. Though there are lots of space, the houses in village huddle up into congested gullies and roads. Houses have no compound and most of them are poorly built. They are hardly in habitable state. Poor road condition leading to the village IMG_3214 Women folks riding a bullock cart on their way to paddy fieldsIMG_3221 Tractor on the road is a common sight. Almost 100% of the villagers are farmers IMG_3231 A bank's building at Rajpura Village IMG_3225 A woman and his son carrying loads on their heads IMG_3196 A man drying cow dungs to turn it into fuel for cooking IMG_3192 Cows and children are a common sight in small gullies of the village IMG_3205 IMG_3203 A woman attending to her buffalo at her house IMG_3213 A house like this is hardly fit for living IMG_3209 These pictures are clearly indicative that Rajpura village is slowly and steadily dying its own death.
