Jind Industrial Area

29th September 2014

Naya Haryana
Jind Industrial Area began as a site for small-scale industrial units for radio and electrical goods, fabrication of cement jallis, soap and candles, etc. It also manufactures agriculture implements. Large scale industrial units for milk and steel products were set up in 1968 and 1973 respectively. Though many companies have set up factories, Jind remains one of the most poorly maintained and polluted cities. A leather factory inside Jind Industrial Area emit pungent smell from the toxic chemicals used to convert skin into leather. People who work or live near the factory suffer a great deal from chemical effluents like chromium.
