Jind Industrial Area began as a site for small-scale industrial units for radio and electrical goods, fabrication of cement jallis, soap and candles, etc. It also manufactures agriculture implements. Large scale industrial units for milk and steel products were set up in 1968 and 1973 respectively. Though many companies have set up factories, Jind remains one of the most poorly maintained and polluted cities.
