With the rapid advancements in technology and globalisation, the manufacturing industry has become highly competitive. Manufacturing is done with the object of looking for the new ways to design, produce, sell and deliver quality products. Manufacturing organisations work towards three major criteria quality, cost and responsiveness. Quality is the primary criteria which should be attended to by the manufacturers. It is important to produce quality products, so that they can receive better response from the customers.
Haryana has many manufacturing units, ranging from textile to glass, steel and automobiles, etc. As the manufacturing industry contributes to the economy of the state, it is essential to sustain a quality line of production which can improve the economy of the state in a better way. The quality of the products manufactured should undergo quality inspection, which covers quality control and quality assurance. The India Quality Control Board checks for the quality of the products, and it is necessary that the state government should also take charge of the vigilance towards the products manufactured in the state.
Haryana is rich in terms of presence of manufacturing units. It is necessary that a vigilance is done in the state over all the products which are produced. For instance, the state is rich in manufacturing of agricultural and dairy products; there is a need that the Ministry of Food Processing should keep a track of the production that takes place in the state. The Ministry should test and inspect the quality of the food being produced and sold in the market. The buyers and sellers are required to be acquainted with the quality testing, so that no ordinary or common stuff is circulated in the market. Quality testing is required in the large scale industries as well. For example, we have seen in the recent years that there have been faults in the automobiles produced in the country. The defects and faults in the auto parts of the vehicles or motors are detected later when several complaints are registered against them. The government is required to deal with such incidents and take stricter measures, so that such incidents do not take place again. The government should make sure that the industries undergo vigilance by the authorities of the vigilance department.
Each and every manufacturing unit must ensure that the products being furnished or produced by them stand clear by the vigilance or the quality inspection teams. These units should also form an in-house vigilance team or quality check teams which will keep a close eye on the quality of the products. It is necessary that the products should fulfill the norms of certification such as 'ISI', 'ISO certified' or related tests. The manufacturers and the government have to play a vital role in enhancing the quality of the products and make sure that zero-defect products are produced in the state. It is also important to note that if the state produces products which are rich in quality, it will, in turn, give rise to the exports of the state. The economic development of the state is a major concern for the vision of Naya Haryana which we seek to achieve.
